Although illustration is not a primary focus for me, I have still enjoyed creating something different and, at times, out of my comfort zone. Throughout my career, I have utilized various illustration styles and techniques which were dependent on the company brand, concept, or process. The illustrations below have been created for flyers, publications, packaging, and digital advertisements. Clients have included Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream and Topper’s Pizza Canada. Ben & Jerry’s wanted to expand the franchising section on their website and needed new illustrations to go along with all the new information they were adding. These original illustrations were developed to match the look of the ones currently used. Similar bright colors and line weights were incorporated to match the overall feel and style.
Topper’s Pizza Canada was looking for an updated and fun look that emphasized their affordable and handmade specialty pizzas. Working with Wheat Creative, we decided to put their delicious-looking food at the forefront, and the supporting illustrative style lends itself to a handmade feel. And as an added bonus, it highlights the fact that Topper’s makes pizza night a fun and exciting weekly event.
The Cypher publication consisted of an alternative literary review of books. The design was based on the cultural movement of Dada, an art and literature movement of the European avant-garde in the early 20th century. Original illustrations were created through collage and photomontage, which was also very common during this movement.

Carny Corn popcorn kernel packaging was based on the delightfully strange worker you may run into at a traveling carnival, otherwise known as a “carny.” Original illustrations were created with a distressed look to make the characters and their home feel lovable yet still somewhat creepy.
